As if Meghan Markle hasn't been busy enough these past few months - what with setting up home in Montecito, California, launching her non-profit organisation, Archewell, with husband Prince Harry, and carrying the couple's second child - now the Duchess of Sussex has also written a book!

Shared for the first time today on social media, The Bench is a children's book written about the special bond between father and son, seen through a mother’s eyes. According to royal journalist Victoria Murphy, quoting the Duchess herself, the rhyming book started as a poem Meghan wrote for Harry shortly after Archie was born.

"The Bench started as a poem I wrote for my husband on Father’s Day, the month after Archie was born. That poem became this story," said Meghan Markle. "My hope is that The Bench resonates with every family, no matter the makeup, as much as it does with mine."

With a preview of some of the pages of the book having been shared on social media, it's clear how gorgeous the illustrations are, by California-based artist Christian Robinson. "Christian layered in beautiful and ethereal watercolour illustrations that capture the warmth, joy and comfort of the relationship between fathers and sons from all walks of life," said the royal-turned-author. "This representation was particularly important to me, and Christian and I worked closely to depict this special bond through an inclusive lens."

Meghan's book, which she publishes under the name 'Meghan, Duchess of Sussex', is written in rhyme, and is out in the UK and various other countries on 8 June. So no doubt there'll be quite a few pre-orders flooding in from parents all around the world...

But Meghan Markle's career as an author isn't the only recent news from the Sussexes where their work life is concerned; Prince Harry's first Netflix show was also announced last month. The docu-series, created by the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's production company, Archewell Productions, will be called Heart Of Invictus, and will follow a group of Invictus Games competitors from around the world as they prepare for the big competition at The Hague in the Netherlands in spring 2022.

It's all going on in the House of Sussex right now, isn't it?!
