Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have reportedly been in touch with Althea Bernstein, who was the victim of a despicable hate crime in Madison, Wisconsin earlier this week. 18-year-old Althea was called the N-word and set on fire while she was sitting at an intersection in her car, and suffered severe burns in the process.

Her spokesperson Michael Johnson said Meghan and Harry called to speak with Althea for about 40 minutes on Saturday. As Michael told Channel 3000 (via Us Weekly), she has been “struggling” and “emotional” since the hate crime took place, and “Meghan lifted her spirits.”

Michael also said that Meghan sounded “almost like a seasoned high school counselor” and confirmed that she's agreed to speak with local kids via a virtual town hall in the coming weeks. In a Facebook post, Michael revealed that Meghan said “My faith is greater than any fear in my heart. If their is anything you all need from me. I am here.”

During an interview with GMA, Althea said "I'm very very hopeful that these men sort of see all the responses and that they know that they hurt me and that this is something that's going to affect me for a while. And I really hope that they choose to improve themselves."
