Meghan Markle and Prince Harry Taking Baby Archie to America for Thanksgiving

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle may have just returned home from their whirlwind royal tour of Africa, but it appears they are already prepared to hop on a plane to a new destination. And their next trip will be a deeply personal one for Meghan.

According to a royal source who spoke to CNN, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are planning to take a few weeks off from their royal duties starting in November. The pair will reportedly then head off with their son, Archie, for a much-needed vacation to the United States around Thanksgiving. It will mark the first time Archie has visited the United States, where his mother Meghan is from.

According to The Sunday Times, the couple and their baby will spend the holiday in Los Angeles with Meghan’s mother, Doria.

The low-key family trip couldn’t come soon enough for the couple, but especially for Meghan.

Over the weekend, ITV journalist Tom Bradby shared a clip from his upcoming documentary on the royal couple’s trip to Africa. In the video, Bradby asks Meghan about her emotional state and how she’s dealt with the media attention surrounding her life. The Duchess clearly chokes up when asked the question, replying, “Any woman, especially when they're pregnant, you're really vulnerable and so that was made really challenging. And then when you have a newborn, you know...especially as a woman, it’s really, it’s a lot, so you add this on top of just trying to be a new mom or trying to be a newlywed it’s, yeah, well I guess.”

She thanked Bradby for asking the question, adding, “And also thank you for asking because not many people have asked if I'm OK. But it’s a very real thing to be going through behind the scenes.”

Fans of the royal family shouldn’t hold their breath for any photos of the family on their American vacation. This is, after all, an actual vacation, meaning no official events will be on their calendar. So it will be just like any other family’s Thanksgiving break, right?
