Now that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are full-time Santa Barbarans, they’re turning over their place in England to new occupants, but keeping it in the (royal) family, of course.

Princess Eugenie, Harry’s cousin and the daughter of Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson, will move into Frogmore Cottage, the former home of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, with her new husband, Jack Brooksbank.

According to a source that spoke with Harper's Bazaar, Harry and Meghan “are delighted to be able to open up their home to Princess Eugenie and Jack as they start their own family.” Their reporting states that the Sussexes will retain ownership of the property and won’t be charging Jack and Eugenie rent. They could, in fact, all share the space when Harry and Meghan visit England.

Princess Eugenie and her husband are currently expecting their first child, due in early 2021, per their Instagram announcement. They’re currently living in Ivy Cottage at Kensington Palace and may have selected Frogmore because it’s in Windsor, Eugenie’s hometown.

The property is also close to where the Queen and Prince Philip are spending lockdown, in Windsor Castle. Because Frogmore is a private residence owned outright by Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, Buckingham Palace hasn’t commented on the matter.

The Daily Mail reports reports that movers have been spotted emptying the house of its furniture, which could be shipped to the Sussexes’ current residence in Southern California. It’s a sign, per their source, that the couple intends to make California a permanent home.

While they may be the only royals in town, it’s not like Meghan and Harry are short on A-list neighbors. Their new residence in Montecito, Santa Barbara, is close to Oprah’s place, and now Orlando Bloom and Katy Perry’s family home. Maybe when the pandemic is over baby Archie and baby Daisy can have a playdate.
