Meghan Markle and Prince Harry Had One of Their First Secret Dates at a Supermarket

Studies generally show that the grocery store is a place where people often meet their future spouses. As it turns out, that was somewhat true for Meghan Markle and Prince Harry, too. According to Elle, the Duke of Sussex appeared on Dax Shepard's Armchair Expert podcast and revealed that he and Meghan met at a supermarket and pretended not to know each other during her first visit to London.

The reason behind their playful antics? It actually helped deceive the paparazzi from catching on to their courtship. "We text each other from the other side, while people were looking at me and giving me all these weird looks coming up and saying 'hi' or whatever. It was nice, baseball cap on, looking down at the floor, trying to go incognito," Harry told Dax and his co-host, producer Monica Padman.

Now happily settled into married life, they are excitedly awaiting the arrival of their daughter. While Meghan and Harry are likely preparing for this birth differently the second time around, as they are already parents to their two-year-old son, Archie, the duchess is apparently skipping one pre-baby tradition: a shower. "Meghan doesn't feel a big baby shower with gifts is appropriate right now," a source told Us Weekly. "There is too much strife in the world. She and Harry have been so involved with humanitarian issues, they both feel their time and resources can be used for a better purpose." Meghan "has the support of her friends and, most importantly," her husband, Prince Harry. "Harry is the ideal partner, taking care of Archie and working to provide for his family," the insider added.

While Megan and Harry continue to make arrangements for their daughter on the way, fans of the royal couple are already speculating about what they will name their little one. Diana and Philippa have been leading United Kingdom name betting boards, but another moniker is gaining traction: Poppy. Meghan made a special appearance during the Global Citizen's VAX Live: The Concert to Reunite the World television special sporting a light red dress with pink poppy flowers—and fans now think the Carolina Herrera frock could be a nod to her baby girl. "The poppy is a symbol of remembrance and hope, and is often worn to show support for the service and sacrifice of the Armed Forces, veterans, and their families across the UK. Given Prince Harry's ties to the military, the name Poppy would be incredibly fitting," one fan said. Another social media user added: "Poppy is the California state flower. Their place of freedom and healing." Followers of the royal family have proven their case on why this name could be a strong contender, but the world will have to wait for the word from the duke and duchess themselves (which, given Meghan's due date, will likely be soon!).
