Meghan Markle and Prince Harry Attend Final Royal Engagement with Kate Middleton and Prince William

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are back in the public eye (for now) — their appearance at Commonwealth Service on Monday marks their final engagement as senior members of the royal family.

And though it’s the last time all of the adult Windsors will unite for a function in such a way, there are already notable differences in how Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are being treated.

Instead of accompanying Queen Elizabeth as she made her way through Westminster Abbey at the beginning of the service, the Sussexes were ushered to their seats like any other attendees. Last year, Kate Middleton, Prince William, Prince Charles, Camilla Parker Bowles, Prince Harry, and a very pregnant Markle walked in the Queen’s procession.

Protocol aside, Markle and Harry dressed as though they were the guests of honor. Markle arrived in a green dress, with a matching cape, bag and fascinator. Harry matched her subtly in a blue suit with a green lining.

For their last appearance alongside the Sussexes, The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge also looked the part. Kate Middleton wore a burgundy jacket with matching pumps. William wore a simple black suit but matched the Duchess with a red tie.
