Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton Will Reportedly “Never Be Best Friends”
Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton are obviously civil with each other but will “never be best friends,” a royal source just said.
However, this doesn’t mean Meghan and Kate are feuding with each other!!
Okay, okay. Before you get fired up and think, Oh, hello, delightful Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton feud update! think again because you’re not getting one! Well, not exactly. I know Meghan and Kate have had their fair share of rumors surrounding them, mostly about whether they like each other and if their “friendship” is a PR stunt. And while technically none of us mere mortals/nonroyals really know the truth, we’re now getting a report claiming that Meghan and Kate will never be besties. Here we go....
According to a royal Us Weekly source, Meghan and Kate will allegedly “never be best friends, but they’re civil,” while a second source said they won’t be super close because they’re “from two totally different worlds.” Now, I want to make this abundantly clear: Just because Meghan and Kate won’t be besties doesn’t mean they can’t be regular ol’ friends with each other. Be honest: Do you consider every friend your best friend? Yeahhh, probably not.
If the royal source’s statements are true, the “two different worlds” comment isn’t all that hard to believe. Us Weekly previously reported that Meghan can’t really relate to how cushioned Kate’s path is, which makes sense because the British media really loves to scrutinize her. “Meghan feels that there is a standard set very high by Kate,” a source told the magazine last month.
“It’s discouraging that the British public holds her up to that,” the source added. “Meghan has this sense of isolation being in the UK, subject to cruel British media. Her hands are tied and she isn’t allowed to defend herself. It has been very difficult.”
So despite the fact that Meghan and Kate will probably never be giggling BFFs like you and your bestie are, the good thing to remember is that they’re still getting along. In fact, Meghan and Kate were very friendly at Wimbledon in July, royal reporter Katie Nicholl told Entertainment Tonight:
“We saw Kate and Meghan in the royal box getting along, chatting to each other, looking very much like friends. To have had the tennis [outing] so soon afterward, and obviously the two duchesses being so close together and so comfortable in each other’s company, yes, for the time being, you’re not going to be reading stories of a feud. You’re going to be reading stories about how the duchesses get on and I am told that both of them are making an effort to get along.”
So we can stop thinking that Meghan and Kate hate each other, okay? Fabulous!
