  • Meghan Markle stepped out for a secret visit to Smart Works in London this week.

  • Meghan is the royal patron of Smart Works, which supports vulnerable and unemployed women to return to work.

  • According to royal expert Omid Scobie, the charity has seen incredible growth since the duchess came onboard in January.

Meghan Markle takes her royal patronages very seriously, and this week she celebrated the incredible success the charity Smart Works has been having since her involvement was announced. Apparently, the Duchess of Sussex's impact on the organization has already been evident, with the charity helping almost 50% more women in February 2019 than it did in the same month in 2018.

Royal commentator Omid Scobie revealed on Twitter, "Still busy! Duchess Meghan this morning attended a meeting with @SmartWorksHQ (and CEO @byKateStephens) at St Charles Hospital. The charity has been growing rapidly since Meghan became patron. In February they helped 187 women in London alone (47% more than this time last year)."

In January 2019, when Meghan's first royal patronages were first announced, the duchess visited Smart Works. Of the duchess' first official visit, Scobie revealed, "Meghan helped two newly-employed ladies put together looks from the charity’s carefully-curated rails, which features donations from supporters including Burberry, Hobbs, Jigsaw, Kate Spade, LK Bennett, Marks & Spencer, and Whistles."

In January, Mother-of-three Patsy Wardally, 55, told BAZAAR.com, "It was so exhilarating to meet the Duchess. She picked out a Hobbs cape, a pair of earrings, a bracelet and a handbag for me. She chose things that were fantastic and now I feel much more confident and more beautiful."

Meghan's secret visit to Smart Works this week celebrates the charity's incredible work and extended reach, helping even more women in the process.
