Meghan Markle was just spotted making a kind gesture after Texas school shooting

Earlier this week, a school in Uvalde, Texas – Robb Elementary – became the scene of an absolutely heartbreaking tragedy, after 19 children and two adults died in a shooting.
Keen to show her support, yesterday Meghan Markle made a very poignant and personal gesture by flying from her home in California to visit a memorial for the victims, taking donations with her.
In a video posted by the BBC, the Duchess of Sussex can seen wearing a casual white T-shirt and baseball cap shielding her face as she walks to the memorial, arms folded, looking sombre and sad. There's also photos of her wearing a face mask and tenderly placing a bunch of flowers in honour of all the victims who died.
A spokesperson for the Duchess of Sussex, said she went in a "personal capacity as a mother" and that it was important for Meghan to make the trip and offer her support to the community of Texas during this horrific time, which has been described as a period of intense and "unimaginable grief".
The Duchess of Sussex – who now lives in Montecito with Prince Harry and their two children, Archie and Lilibet – also went to donate food at a nearby community centre which was hosting a blood drive.
Blood drive volunteers told Buzzfeed that Meghan dropped off two "large" crates which were filled with food including sandwiches, drinks, and desserts for all the donors who were donating blood.
"I had no idea who she was. She just was carrying on a conversation like her and I knew each other for years," a volunteer called Gloria Contreras told BuzzFeed News. "We were just talking about, you know, the situation and what happened what we were doing here. I told her about us giving out water to the people and feeding them."
The volunteer continued: "I even talked about my personal life, telling her about my son and my family and, you know, coming to Texas because she told me she was from Santa Barbara and I said, 'Well, you need to come to Texas!' We were talking about Texas and Uvalde and how it is to be in a small town and how everybody is so kind, warm-hearted and we know each other [...] how the faith is deep-rooted."
Another volunteer said: "It's funny, we didn't even know it was her until after she left and now we're so sad. I mean, to be honest, we thought she was our neighbour."
A number of people are still in hospital after after the shooting.
