  • Meghan Markle just shared a photo from before her life as a duchess on the official royal Instagram.

  • The post was shared in honor of Veterans Day and Remembrance Day.

Thanks to Meghan Markle deleting her personal Instagram feed, it’s hard to find a lot of evidence about what her life was like before joining the royal family. Especially since the Sussexes’ personal Instagram is fully dedicated to Meghan and Prince Harry’s life as a working royal couple. But! Meghan just hit the @SussexRoyal Instagram account to share a photo of her life pre-royalty in honor of Veterans Day.

The photo is from 2014, when Meghan went on the USO tour with the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and visited troops in five countries including Spain, Italy, Turkey, Afghanistan, and the United Kingdom. As the Sussexes’ account notes, at the time, Meghan said, “I have always had such a profound respect for our nation’s troops and military families. I cannot thank them enough for everything they do for us.”

Meghan and Harry have made a number of recent public appearances in honor of Britain’s Remembrance Day, and over the weekend, they joined almost the entire royal family at the Royal British Legion Festival of Remembrance—including Kate Middleton and Prince William. This was the first time the “fab four” had been seen together since Harry came clean about his feud with William, and despite some tension in Meghan’s and Harry’s body language, the couple seemed completely at ease. They even shared this extremely sweet moment during the ceremony:

Love these two.
