Since moving into their Santa Barbara home, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have given us a few glimpses into their new residence via Zoom calls. On Wednesday, the Duchess of Sussex gave another intimate view of their decor during the season finale of America's Got Talent, when she surprised contestant Archie Williams, who served 37 years in prison for a crime he didn't commit, with a video message of support.
Along with a candle by Diptyque (her favorite candle company) and a vase of flowers, there are two stacks of coffee table books on the table behind Meghan. The first book that caught our eye is, of course, a design book. It's called Wood and Iron: Industrial Interiors, and as its name implies, the book focuses on the world of industrial style. (Maybe she and Harry used it as inspiration for designing their new home?!)
Meghan and Harry also have a few photography books on display. There's one titled The National Geographic Image Collection, a collection of interviews and portraits of women around the world. The book draws from the National Geographic's archive and also features "contemporary trailblazers," according to its description. The couple also have photography books featuring the work of celebrity photographers who have photographed Royals in the past. One is a book of portraits by Marc Hom, and another is Annie Leibovitz's A Photographer's Life 1990-2005.
Another discernible title in their collection is The Black Godfather, a book that's based on the 2019 Netflix documentary of the same name. The film is about music executive Clarence Avant.
