Meghan Markle Is a Fan of ‘The Good Place’ (Including That Prince Harry Joke)

Just because Meghan Markle is a royal now doesn’t mean she’s opposed to binge-watching TV. In fact, actress Jameela Jamil recently revealed that the duchess, 38, is a fan of NBC’s The Good Place.

In an interview with Grazia, Jamil, 33, admitted that she came into contact with Markle after she guest-edited an issue of British Vogue magazine. “Meghan called me herself,” she said. “I missed the call three times before I finally answered, I wanted to punch myself!”

During their conversation, Jamil learned that Markle is a fan of her TV show, The Good Place, where she plays Tahani Al-Jamil.

“She said she loved The Good Place. I then felt immediately embarrassed that she had seen me joke about her on the show,” she said, referring to the episode where her character claims that she set up Prince Harry and Markle.

While Jamil felt slightly awkward, the duchess handled it like a total pro and went along with the fictional story line. “[Meghan] said she’s grateful to Tahani for introducing her to Harry,” she added. “I just replied, ‘You’re welcome.’”

Although the conversation was brief, Jamil confirmed that Markle is “warm, kind and actually very LOLs… I had never met her before, but we chatted very openly.”

If you need us, we’ll be trying to squeeze more juicy details out of Jamil.
