  • For her final public appearance as a working royal yesterday, Duchess Meghan wore a monochromatic green ensemble while attending Commonwealth Day Service at Westminster Abbey alongside Prince Harry.

  • Meghan's look (an Emilia Wickstead cape dress and matching William Chambers hat) may have been a sartorial nod to her late mother-in-law, Princess Diana.

  • Princess Diana wore a strikingly similar look for her appearance at the 1982 Trooping the Colour ceremony, while pregnant with her first child, Prince William.

Duchess Meghan may have taken a bit of style inspiration from Princess Diana for her Commonwealth Day look.

Royal fans from all over praised the bold but chic style statement Meghan wore for her final public appearance as a working royal. She was outfitted in a vibrant emerald cape dress by Emilia Wickstead, a hat by William Chambers, nude stiletto pumps by Aquazzura, and an on-trend mini bag by Gabriela Hearst. Prince Harry even complemented his wife's fashion with a suit jacket that featured matching green satin fabric on the inner lining.

The all-green ensemble Meghan chose for the occasion reminds of a similar monochromatic choice made by the late Princess Diana in 1982. Per E! News, Meghan's mother-in-law wore a jewel-toned look for the traditional royal Trooping the Colour ceremony.

In the vintage snaps, Diana was pregnant with Prince William, pictured looking pretty and poised as she posed and waved along the rest of the royal family.

It's unknown for now if royal fans will be able to get another glimpse at the Duke and Duchess of Sussex before their official transition into post-royal life. As of now, Harry and Meghan will be relinquished of their royal duties starting April 1.
