Will Meghan Markle’s Character Appear in Season 9 of ‘Suits’? Her Former Co-star Is Giving Us Hope

It’s been more than a year since Meghan Markle (Rachel Zane) and Patrick J. Adams (Mike Ross) left Suits after seven successful seasons. In honor of Adams’s upcoming guest appearance in the ninth (and final) season, the 37-year-old actor is dishing on how his character—along with Rachel—will fit into the story line.

In a recent interview with Entertainment Tonight, Adams discussed his highly anticipated cameo in episode five of the popular USA series. Although Rachel and Mike moved to Seattle in the season seven finale, the actor confirmed that his upcoming involvement isn’t permanent.

“For Mike, this is just a trip to New York,” he said. “He’s in Seattle, [Mike and Rachel] are building their life together, it sounds like he’s doing well.”

Adams went on to say that the episode will also include tidbits of Rachel…but there’s a catch. “There’s phone calls with Rachel saying, ‘Goodbye, I love you.’ You know, I think there’s some obvious acknowledgment that she’s still there and a part of the show,” he continued.

When asked about the future of their fictional relationship, Adams said, “We’re happy. I promise you they’re happy.”

Since departing Suits, Markle and Adams have both become parents. While the duchess and Prince Harry welcomed their first child—Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor—in May 2019, the actor and his wife, Troian Bellisario, added a baby girl to their family last October.

Even Adams can hardly believe how much has changed since starring on the USA series. “Yeah, it’s weird. We all have kids now,” he added. “It’s fantastic. I mean, it just changes everything in your life. It gives you a new purpose.”
