  • Meghan Markle joked about her acting career with Billy Eichner.

  • The two met at the London premier of The Lion King.

The Lion King premiere is truly the gift that keeps on giving. First Disney gave us a Meghan Markle-Beyoncé meet up that will never be topped, then Meghan commented on all the hate she gets as a royal, and Beyoncé gave us the most iconic photoshopped photo op in recent memory. Now, comedian Billy Eichner, who plays Timon in the 2019 remake, said he and Megs joked about her acting career while at the premiere. Love a self-aware duchess!

Talking on the Today show with Hoda and Jenna, Billy said he and Meghan actually studied theater at Northwestern at the same exact time. What a world. Billy and Meghan didn't actually know each other while they were in school, but nothing can break that tenuous alma mater bond, ya know?

He said that when he brought up their common pasts at the premiere, they started reminiscing about their acting teachers. Meghan also apparently told him, "Congrats on your career." Which, yes, Billy on the Street is a true gem.

After she said that, Billy said "congrats on your career" right back to her. Oh, and in case you forgot, Meghan was a pretty successful actor. She was on Suits for seven years, starred in that Horrible Bosses Movie, and worked on that Deal or No Deal Show.

Unfortunately, she never took home an Emmy or any big awards, but the greatest artists are rarely appreciated in their own time. (Or so I like to tell myself when my roommate tells me to stop singing in the shower, again.)

When Billy complimented her career, she joked, "Well, things took a little turn," which is definitely a reference to how she retired from acting in favor of working with the royal family on projects and campaigns that have a global reach.

Ultimately, Meghan is definitely loving her new life as a royal and doesn't seem too concerned about acting anymore. According to an Us Weekly source, she's adjusting to her duties really well. They said, “She really likes living in Windsor. It’s much less complicated to have friends visit and feels less claustrophobic than Kensington Palace.”

They also added that she and Harry are excited about their newfound privacy and life with baby Archie. "Harry and Meghan are very happy with how the cottage turned out," the source said. "They are looking forward to really starting their lives together on their own.”
