Meghan Markle's friend Misha Nonoo's multi-day, celeb-packed wedding to oil heir Michael Hess began yesterday in Rome, and paparazzi got some photos of the pre-wedding dinner. Katy Perry, Karlie Kloss, and Orlando Bloom were photographed there—but Meghan and Harry were not.
That doesn't necessarily mean the royal couple wasn't there. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex were seen arriving in Rome yesterday but seem to be keeping their visit as low-profile—and out of the paparazzi's lens—as possible.
On Thursday, The Sun's royal reporter Emily Andrews broke news of the couple's arrival for Nonoo's wedding: "Eagle Italian eyes tell me that Harry & Meghan were spotted arriving in Rome today for tomorrow’s wedding of the Duchess’ best mate Misha Nonoo to U.S. oil tycoon Michael Hess," Andrews tweeted. "Misha, who helped introduce Harry to Meghan, collaborated on the highly successful #SmartSet collection. Archie was not with them—the Duke & Duchess of Sussex are enjoying a bit of down-time before their full-on royal tour of Africa which starts on Monday. They’ll fly to Cape Town then Harry will go to Botswana, Angola & Malawi before re-uniting with Archie & Meg in Jo’burg."
The Sun additionally reported that the two flew commercial there. "Misha helped introduce Harry to Meghan and the two women are the best of friends," a source told the outlet. "Meghan wasn't going to miss her wedding for the world. They've left Archie at home but it's only for a couple of days and they will be back on Saturday."
Nonoo's wedding will be this evening at Villa Aurelia in Italy, and according to HOLA! (via Hello! magazine), the dress code for women is floor-length gowns and for men, tuxedos. The ceremony will be followed by a gala dinner and a dance. It's unclear at this point if Meghan and Harry will be photographed among arrivals, but there's a chance.
At last night's dinner, Perry and Bloom were photographed sharing a kiss. Kloss and Perry were both shot wearing black: Kloss in a dress, Perry in a Chanel unitard. See the photos on Hello!.
