In honor of Mother’s Day, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex shared a new photo of baby Archie. The @SussexRoyal Instagram posted a beautiful photo Sunday morning, of Meghan’s hand holding the newborn’s feet.

While Mother’s Day is celebrated in March in the United Kingdom, it looks like the couple decided to honor Meghan’s American background by posting the photo on the U.S. Mother’s Day. Baby Archie was born on May 6 and, as the couple pointed out in the photo’s caption, it’s Meghan’s first Mother’s Day as a mom herself.

“Paying tribute to all mothers today – past, present, mothers-to-be, and those lost but forever remembered. We honor and celebrate each and every one of you,” the caption reads. “Today is Mother’s Day in the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Kenya, Japan, and several countries across Europe. This is the first Mother’s Day for The Duchess of Sussex.”

Some fans who commented on the Instagram noted that one of the, “lost but forever remembered” moms is Prince Harry’s mother, the late Princess Diana. In the background of the picture of Archie and Meghan are a group of Scorpion grasses, or “forget-me-nots.” The plant was Princess Diana’s favorite flower, so it looks like Harry and Meghan added a little tribute to her into the Mother’s Day post. (Meghan’s bridal bouquet also featured forget-me-nots.)

The Sussexes appear to be loving parenthood so far, with Prince Harry giving a sweet interview to the press after Archie’s birth last week. Their latest Instagram post both honors Harry’s late mom and looks ahead to Meghan’s life as a mother — the perfect intergenerational Mother’s Day tribute.

Harry and Meghan are spending Mother’s Day with Meghan’s mom, Doria Ragland, at their Frogmore Cottage home, People reported on Sunday. The new parents revealed their son’s full name, Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor, in an Instagram post earlier this week.
