Megan Young saddened over Laura Lehmann's Miss World loss

The former Miss World says that she has wanted Lehmann to win the title so much

20 Nov – It seems that no one is more devastated with Laura Lehmann's unsuccessful attempt to win Miss World than the former Miss World 2013 herself, Megan Young.

The beauty queen, who hosted the 2017 Miss World pageant in Sanya, China on 18 November, recently took to Instagram to express her thoughts about Lehmann's failure to place Top 15 with a photo of the two of them together.

She wrote, "As we board our flight back to Manila, I can't help but think about last night. Not being able to read your name was the toughest because I really wanted and prayed for this moment for you! I was upset but as they say, the show must go on."

"I went back to my room and realised that even though it may not have been the winning outcome I had hoped for you, I knew you were a winner in the hearts of many parents and children of Jose Reyes Memorial hospital. At your age, being able to provide a hospital with a MILK BANK is a WIN already. You have SAVED and CHANGED lives. I am so proud of you and your strength and positivity."

She ended the post, saying, "Thank you for shining a bright light on the people around you, Lau. I am so proud to be your friend and sister. Thank you for inspiring me. Always. Love you, Lau!"

The Miss World 2017 title recently went to India's Manushi Chhillar, whose victory ended the 16 years pageant drought for India. The last Indian to win Miss World was Priyanka Chopra in 2000.
