Megan Thee Stallion is not just the Head Hottie. She’s also the queen of reinvention. Just hours before the release of her brand-new single “Cobra,” Megan took to her Instagram Stories to promote the song. In the videos, she debuted a brand new hairstyle that made us do a double-take. You might have missed it if you scrolled by too quick. The rapper put an autumnal twist on the jet-black bust down by using one of the trendiest hair color of the year in the most subtle way.

Megan wore her midnight hair in a sleek middle part with wispy layers and some contrasting red peekaboo highlights. The bold pop of color is reminiscent of the Y2K style popularized by Christina Aguilera in her “Dirrty” era. Megan paired her cherry highlights with a matching red lip, lined with a dark lip liner for a '90s touch.

Megan is no stranger to switching up her look. From the time she dyed her natural curls coppery red to her wispy violet bangs, versatility is clearly Megan’s thing. Fans have come to learn that when Megan revamps her hair, something new just might be on the way. In October, Megan shared a sizzling Instagram pic wearing sleek pin-straight hair while posing with a snake. Now, we know it was a chic nod to her song “Cobra” which is one of Megan’s most vulnerable releases yet.

The music video features striking visuals of Megan being observed in a glass box and shedding layers like a snake. The Houston rapper gets candid with her lyrics, revealing her battles with mental health and the weight of public scrutiny around her court case. Just like in her music, Megan’s style documents her journey as she navigates her personal life and the on-stage persona we’ve come to love her for.
