To launch her debut book, the Jennifer’s Body alum made a stylish appearance at Racket NYC yesterday, where she discussed the toxic relationships that inspired the poems in front of an audience.
Her nearly all-brown ensemble consisted of a semi-sheer racer-back tank top and a chocolate leather midi skirt featuring a high-rise fit and a flared silhouette. She finished off her look with a pair of glossy black PVC knee-high boots, which included a sleek pointed toe and stiletto heels. She added a pop of color with her beauty look, coordinating a long, bright red mani with her bright red bob.
In a statement, Fox explained her motivations behind penning Pretty Boys Are Poisonous. “These poems were written in an attempt to excise the illness that had taken root in me because of my silence,” the actor wrote. “I’ve spent my entire life keeping the secrets of men, my body aches from carrying the weight of their sins. My freedom lives in these pages and I hope that my words can inspire others to take back their happiness and their identity by using their voice to illuminate what’s been buried, but not forgotten, in the darkness.”
She recently opened up about the book’s contents in an interview with Good Morning America, during which she revealed that she struggled through a miscarriage with fiancé Machine Gun Kelly.
“I’d never been through anything like that in my life. I have three kids, so it was very difficult for both of us, and it sent us on a very wild journey together and separately … trying to navigate What does this mean? and Why did this happen?” she said.
