Meet the Real F*ckboys of HBO Max's 'FBOY Island'
During elimination night, on a TV set in the Cayman Islands, a gaggle of gigantic muscled men line up in tight, tiny shorts and unbuttoned shirts in front of three women tasked with eliminating one each. The women, looking for love, must do their best to discern if the men they’re about to send packing are nice guys looking for real relationships with them or fuckboys just there to take home some cash. Sometimes, the women get it wrong. Other times, they’re right, whittling out more bad eggs from the mix. “Fboy, Fbye!” host Nikki Glaser says when the outed f-boys leave.
HBO Max makes its first foray into original reality dating content with FBoy Island, the first three episodes of which land on the streamer on July 29. Hosted by comedian Nikki Glaser, three single women are joined on FBoy Island by 24 men, half of which are nice guys there to find love, and half of which are self-proclaimed f-boys there to make it to the end and take home a cash prize. The three women, CJ Franco, Nakia Renee, and Sarah Emig, must make weekly eliminations following challenges, dates, and plenty of drama. Following this first episode drop, a second batch of three episodes lands on August 5, and the final four on August 12. In an over-saturated reality dating television landscape, FBoy Island stands out as wildly entertaining, self-aware, and very funny.
