Along the way, he meets some pretty interesting people including those who wish to stop him before the king finds out the truth that is written in the letter. So who plays Tiuri and the rest of his companions? And what sort of characters will they meet along the way during this journey?
Here's everything you need to know about the cast and characters of Netflix's The Letter for the King.
Amir Wilson as Tiuri
"He's an underdog that's also a hero at the same time," Amir Wilson exclusively told Seventeen. "He may not look like a knight or fight like a knight, but he's got the heart."
Amir is well known for her role as Will Parry in HBO's His Dark Materials.
Ruby Ashbourne Serkis as Lavinia
"Lavinia is really smart and really feisty. She's really ahead of her times. She's grown up in this really decrepit town, Mistrinaut, and is actually just quite lonely, like I think a lot of the characters on our show," Ruby Ashbourne Serkis revealed exclusively to Seventeen. "And Tiuri's kind of like the first real friend that she makes. He kind of wears down into being quite a nice and caring person."
Ruby is known for playing Young Christina in Hulu's National Treasure.
Thaddea Graham as Iona
"Iona is someone who doesn't come from the same privilege as the other novices. She isn't used to having loads of squires and people helping her and she had to grow up very quickly. She lost her parents when she was younger and it was a massive thing to deal with," Thaddea told Seventeen exclusively. "She doesn't have anything to go home to so she's got to keep moving forward. She's really determined. She's learned through living and her parents taught her all the skills that she has now. She's a really skilled fighter. She knows how to live off the land."
"She's got this incredible connection with animals, which is a really lovely thing cause she finds it quite hard to talk to people. She doesn't have a lot of friends so her connection with animals and nature really comes true. When she meets the novices, I think she realizes what it could be like to have friends and be a part of something."
Thaddea is known for playing Hanmei Collins in the British series, Curfew.
Gijs Blom as Prince Viridian
"Viridian is a guy who got sent off to war at a really early age. He actually had his teenage years in a very bad environment. He had to grow up in a very toxic environment and he had to represent his country in the unknown lands of Evielan," Gijs Blom told Seventeen exclusively. And it made him realize that there's actually not really anything worth fighting the battle for — there's no real use to war — and it will just continue the cycle of slaughter and bloodshed."
"Viridian realizes that he actually wants actual peace to the world. So, although you might perceive him as a villain, his intention is to actually make the world a better place. No one really wants to hear the actual solution. It's not a popular one, but it is an honest one."
Gijs is known for playing Sieger in the film Jongens.
Islam Bouakkaz as Arman
Arman is one of the novices that tries to become a knight along with Tiuri and Iona. After Tiuri breaks the vigil, he works with the other novices to try to get him back.
This is Islam's first breakout role, although he made a small appearance in After Life.
Jonah Lees as Jussipo
Jussipo is another one of the soon-to-be knights that Tiuri ends up going through training with. He is known for playing the flute, much to the annoyance of his comrades.
Jonah is known for his role as Jimmy Swaggart in Sun Records.
Jack Barton as Foldo
Foldo is one of the novices that tries to become a knight along with Tiuri and Iona. After Tiuri breaks the vigil, he works with the other novices to try to get him back.
This is Jack's first starring role in a TV series or movie.
Nathanael Saleh as Piak
Piak is Jussipo's younger brother who is not afraid of a fight. He ends up joining the other novices as they try to look for Tiuri.
Nathanael played Arthur in Game of Thrones and John in Mary Poppins Returns.
Emilie Cocquerel as Queen Alianor
Alianor is the queen of Dagonaut who really wants to do what's best for her and her queendom, even if it means doing something that she doesn't want to do.
Emilie starred in The New Legends of Monkey as Sandy and in Lion as Annika.
Peter Ferdinando as Jaro
Jaro is a man who is set to bring Tiuri back in order to keep him from giving the king the hidden message that could change everything.
Peter is known for his role as Cutter in Ghost in the Shell and The Black Knight in Snow White and the Huntsman.
