McDonald’s Is Testing A New Crispy Chicken Breakfast Sandwich With Bacon And A Butter Honey Sauce

Last year may have been the year of the chicken sandwich thanks to Popeyes, but this year, McDonald's is determined to give them a run for their money. Though Burger King has already announced its plans to release a new and improved chicken sandwich on their lunch menu later this year, McDonald's is switching things up a bit and marketing their latest chicken-centric creation to breakfast lovers.

Available at participating locations in the Sacramento and Stockton, CA, areas, the new Crispy Chicken Breakfast Sandwiches aren't just your regular pieces of fried chicken slapped between a dry biscuit. No, McDonald's is going the extra mile for this one! Each sandwich comes with a fried chicken filet, delicious butter honey sauce, and slices of applewood-smoked bacon all nestled sweetly between your choice of a warm biscuit or a toasted English muffin. I would've been good with just bacon and chicken, but the added layer of a buttery, honey-tinged sauce? Um, yes, please. That literally sounds like a perfect breakfast!

If you happen to be in the area and this sounds like the type of breakfast you'd like to partake in, you should know that each of these sandwiches will run you around $4.69. That's not as cheap as some other McD's breakfast options, but if they're as good as I think they'll be, $5 is nothing but a small price to pay for true happiness. It's unclear if McDonald's has larger plans to roll the sandwich out nationwide, but we'll keep you updated if we learn that's the case. In the meantime, happy eating, West Coast!
