'The Masked Singer' fans mock Jonathan Ross over Tom Cruise guess

Jonathan Ross was mocked by viewers when he suggested Tom Cruise might be one of the disguised celebrities on The Masked Singer.

The ITV programme sees stars dressed up as various characters singing to a panel of judges, who have to guess who they are.

Before Monster was revealed to be CeeLo Green, judges Ross, Davina McCall, Rita Ora and Ken Jeong started guessing who he might be.

But when Ross speculated that A-lister Cruise could be the man hiding in the fuzzy blue costume, fans thought it was a step too far.

“These judges on The Masked Singer COME ON As if bloody Tom Cruise is monster,” said one person on Twitter.

“Why on earth would Tom Cruise be on this low brow (but excellent) ITV Saturday night cheese fest!”

“Yup, it's definitely Tom Cruise cos he really needs the money,” teased another viewer.

“Don’t be stupid Jonathan Tom Cruise? Really?” tweeted one person.

“Seriously Tom Cruise Embarrassing guess,” said another.

As well as Monster, Saturday night’s semi-final saw Fox unmasked. She turned out to be Denise Van Outen, who many fans had guessed was in the costume.

So far nine celebrities have been unmasked and eliminated from the competition.

The Masked Singer continues on ITV.
