Obviously, the premise of ITV's The Masked Singer is that viewers and judges don't know the identity of the celebrity contestants. And yet, somehow none of us had realised that competitors would have to wear disguises backstage too, so that crew and judges don't accidentally bump into one of the celebrities in the corridor or en route to the loos.

After his identity was revealed, former contestant Glen Hoddle, aka The Grandfather Clock, showed fans on Twitter exactly what competitors have to wear backstage to stay undercover, and it's quite something.

Over the weekend football legend and commentator Glen Hoddle became the fourth celebrity to be eliminated from the second series of the singing game show after the judges chose him following a sing-off with The Viking.

Taking to Twitter to reflect on the experience of going on the show Hoddle also gave fans an glimpse of the disguises celebrity contestants have to wear backstage so they aren't recognised by judges and crew.

"Yes guys you guest it right, it was me as the grandfather clock on the @MaskedSingerUK," he wrote. "Such a great experience and so surreal. Thanks for all the lovely messages".

Since the second series started again the theories about who exactly is under each of the disguises has sent the internet wild. We particularly like the Gareth Gates and Meghan Trainor theories, because we like any world where those two occupy the same sentence.

While we're waiting for the rest of the identities to be revealed, anyone want to try and get hold of a couple of those hoodies for general use?
