The Marvels is bringing together three of our favorite heroes in the Marvel Cinematic Universe—Kamala Khan, Carol Danvers, and Monica Rambeau—for a brand new adventure that will take them higher, further, faster than they've ever been before. And one obvious example of this, as with most Marvel things, is their iconic ending scenes that get us all excited about what is coming up next. And if you're reading this, then there's a good bet that you walked out of the theater and need a friend to confirm what you just saw. Or maybe you missed them or you need a little bit of a refresher. Either way, we're here to make it easier for ya and make sure you don't miss a single detail.
Here’s everything you need to know about the end-credit scenes in The Marvels.
Are there any end-credit scenes in The Marvels? How many?
Unlike Secret Invasion, which also starred Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury and leads right onto this movie, The Marvels actually continues to follow the tradition and gives us a full mid-credits scene. There isn't an official post-credit scene, but there is something fun if you wait all the way until the end (although, you don't have to).
Oops, I totally missed it. What happens in The Marvels mid-credit scene?
As you probably already know, the end-credit scenes include major spoilers about what went down in the film and what will happen in the future. So this is your warning that there are The Marvels spoilers below. Don’t say we didn’t warn you!
The film ends with Monica staying behind the hole of time and space that Dar-Benn created. In the mid-credits scene, we see Monica waking up in a hospital room. While it might seem like she's back, things quickly seem different when Monica sees her mom, Maria Rambeau, still alive and sleeping on a seat alongside her.
Monica wakes up emotional and excited to see her mom, however, this new Maria notes that she is not a mother and that she is confused by the situation. After questioning her for a short bit, a familiar voice can be heard and all of a sudden we see Dr. Hank McCoy / Beast from X-Men: Days of Future Past (played by Kelsey Grammer) walk-in. He notes that Charles had asked for an update.
Maria also stands up from her chair and we see her costume for the first time: a white and red suit with some stars on her chest (similar to the Binary suit in the comics) as she asks Maria, "Who are you?"
What happens in The Marvels post-credits?
Surprisingly, there isn't a second scene that is shown after the main credits, but there is something cool that happens. Goose can be heard spitting someone out which may or may not be cute to you depending on how you felt about what you just saw. Either way, a nice and very Goose way to say "goodbye and see ya later."
What does this mean for the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe?
It was already confirmed that the X-Men were joining the universe since Deadpool 3 is confirmed to be a part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. There's a good chance we'll see some more of how both worlds connect there, but there's no doubt that Ms. Marvel and Captain Marvel will try to work hard to bring their friend back to her proper universe in the future.
