He's from New Zealand.
It's tough to beat the fictional oasis in Northern California where Jack lives and works, but Martin's hometown is just as beautiful. The 46-year-old was born and raised in Auckland, New Zealand, before moving to Australia to pursue his acting career. (That explains his dreamy accent!) He relocated to the United States in his early 20s and now has a home in Los Angeles.
Martin isn't married.
There's no ring on his finger, but that doesn't mean Martin's available! The actor is dating a young woman named Aisha Mendez. Not much is known about Aisha or how they met, but it seems the pair has been dating since at least May 2020. They frequently post adorable photos of one another on Instagram and love to enjoy outdoor adventures together like hiking, sailing, and scuba diving.
He's a great dog dad.
After Jack found a stray dog in the woods in Virgin River, he gifted it to Charmaine to make her feel better. In real life, Martin is a proud dog dad to an adorably fluffy pup named Sammy.
"I love him so much," Martin captioned a photo of his pooch on Instagram. "Even when he gets coated in fine sand and leaves it ALL over the boat."
