Rock icon Tina Turner passed away at 83 years old yesterday following a long illness. As the music industry and her millions of fans are mourning the loss, Martha Stewart is celebrating the life and legacy of her late friend on Instagram in a heartwarming tribute.

"We loved Tina Turner. Goddess, Performer, Wonder Woman! We will miss er so much!!!!!!!!!" Stewart wrote on Instagram, alongside a tender photo of the pair snuggled up in bed for what looks like a bestie sleepover.

The photo was originally shared on Instagram a few years back (November 3, 2019, to be exact), just days ahead of opening night for Turner's Broadway musical, Tina: The Tina Turner Musical.

"Tina's here. Waiting for dinner, we had a cozy chat in bed," Stewart captioned the original post. "Her musical opens on Thursday."

Martha's famous friends flooded the comments section to show love and support.

"Simply the best," Barbara Corcoran wrote. "RIP to an icon. Sending love your way, Martha."

Social media influencer Tinx left a simple heart emoji on the post, while famed DJ D-Nice wrote, "Missing her already."

Interior designer Stephen Sills commented, "I love this picture because I took it ! Love you both."

The news of her passing comes after a difficult few years for the singer, who reportedly suffered intestinal cancer, stroke, and kidney failure before she passed.

"Tina Turner, the 'Queen of Rock'n Roll' has died peacefully today at the age of 83 after a long illness in her home in Küsnacht near Zurich, Switzerland. With her, the world loses a music legend and a role model," Turner's publicist Bernard Doherty said in a statement. "There will be a private funeral ceremony attended by close friends and family. Please respect the privacy of her family at this difficult time."

A private funeral service is currently being planned for close friends and family members, Deadline reports.
