Today in good news, Martha Stewart shared with her followers that she has received the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine and crafted a long post thanking medical professionals for all of their hard work.

Her Instagram videos shows the lifestyle maven clad in an all-black ensemble (including a black mask) as she sits and receives her shot. In her caption, she said she was "excited" to have received the first dose and was already looking forward to the next dose (both types of vaccines approved in America require two doses).

"I am so proud of and grateful to the doctors, nurses and medical staff who are wading through the red tape and confusion of the distribution of these very important vaccines," she wrote, in part. Fans heaped praise on Martha for getting the vaccine and for showing a bit of the process. "We love a vaccinated legend!!" one person wrote. "Thank you Martha for being a good example!!" another wrote.

For those who worried she somehow got priority, Martha, 79, also added that she wants fans to "know that I am in the approved age group for this batch of vaccines and I waited in line with others." She also shared her wishes (that we can definitely second!) for the end of the COVID-19 pandemic and thanked medical personnel again.

"Here’s to the advancement of science and a heartfelt thanks to those working on the vaccines. We are all hoping for an end to this pandemic," she wrote.

Martha joins some great company as Great British Baking Show judge Prue Leith also received her first dose of the vaccine last month.
