When I was about 10 years old I had to do a project on a woman that I admire and I, of course, chose Martha Stewart. I have often been proud of that choice, but never as much as when I saw that she posted this very glorious selfie on her Instagram page this week.

The lifestyle mogul and unofficial queen of Instagram posted a photo of herself lounging in her pool in the Hamptons during a particularly hot day. She posted a simple caption about her pool and how it’s designed to use as little chlorine as possible, has no protruding steps as to make it great for racing, and is extra deep for diving.

But the true star of the photo is Martha, who struck a glam pose. The internet immediately blew up with love for this casual “thirst trap” that she posted (for those not in the know, a “thirst trap” is when you post a photo where you look REALLY good, usually with an innocuous caption, so that people can’t help but stop, stare, and comment).

“You have some nerve lookin this HOT at 78 years young 🔥🔥🔥 now lemme get that skincare routine!” one person commented. “Martha thirst trapping?! 😍 My queen!” another wrote. “Martha is here for a hot girl summer,” someone else wrote.

Whether or not Martha meant to elicit this level of adoring comments is up for debate, but the fact that ISN’T up for debate is that this is Martha Stewart’s internet and we are simply living in it.
