  • Martha Stewart, 80, shared the secrets to her "thirst trap" Instagram pictures in a new interview on The Drew Barrymore Show.

  • The lifestyle expert and chef said, simply, "just make sure you look really good."

  • Stewart offered more tips to taking amazing photos, and also added that she took the viral Instagram picture "by accident."

It's no secret that Martha Stewart knows how to post the most fire photos. Remember that viral Instagram post the 80-year-old lifestyle expert and chef posted last June—you know, the thirst trap? Well, apparently it was a total accident—and it's since spawned a new appreciation for posting more incredible photos.

"I was actually trying to take a picture of the beautiful planted pot at the end of my pool, and I must have hit the reverse button on my camera," Stewart told Drew Barrymore during a guest appearance on The Drew Barrymore Show. "And there I am in the picture, and I snapped it and said, 'boy you look really good!' and that was that."

Since then, Stewart has given us plenty of wow-worthy pics. When asked about the key to posing for the perfect picture, Stewart said it's actually quite simple. "First of all, if you want to do a really good thirst trap, just make sure you look good," she told Barrymore.

But it's not *all* about looking good, Stewart said. "You have to look good. You have to feel good and be in the moment," she added.

"None of my pictures are faked," Stewart told Barrymore. Like us, you're probably wondering how Stewart looks so incredible at 80. Well, she has a pretty tried-and-true routine featuring a range of serums and creams.

After beginning her day at 5 a.m., Stewart first reaches for the Yon-Ka Gommage mask before cleansing with Mario Banesco's A.H.A. Botanical Body Soap. Next, she tones with the Mario Banesco Facial Toning Spray with Rosewater.

Then it's time for serums. First up is vitamin C. Stewart's go-to is SkinCeuticals C E Ferulic Serum, which works to neutralize free radicals. The celebrity chef then applies BIOEFFECT EGF Day Serum with skin-smoothing hyaluronic acid.

But the number one skincare product Stewart can't live without? Sunscreen. She never goes without it, and always applies it right before going outside. Her favorite sunscreen is the SkinCeuticals Physical Fusion UV Defense SPF 50.

Now that you know exactly what she uses to look so good, and how she poses, it's time to flip that camera and elevate your selfies. But before you get started, Stewart has one last piece of advice: "Never post an ugly or unfortunate picture of your friends, so then they'll always post nice pictures of you," she told Barrymore. "So, you'll always look good, and nobody knows that sometimes you look bad."
