After growing up in one place, it might feel like you've discovered all there is to know about your home state, but that wasn't quite the case for Martha Stewart. Our founder is a native of New Jersey, and she recently learned something brand-new about her Garden State home after chatting with the stars of Jersey Shore. While hosting an upcoming episode of the Ellen Show alongside Snoop Dogg, Martha spoke with the cast, who were there to celebrate the show's 10 year anniversary. According to Just Jared, she and Snoop played a game called "Spill the Tea" with the show's members, and Martha also gave her personal spin on "GTL," which is the cast's acronym for gym, tan, and laundry.
During the show, Martha and Snoop interviewed four members of the cast—Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino, Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi, Deena Cortese, and Jenni "JWoww" Farley. Martha went on to share her take on what she thought their famed "GTL" acronym meant. "I learned a lot. GTL. I thought that was gardening, tea time, and laundry," she said to the cast.
Martha continued the interview by asking one of the show's stars, Snooki, why she plans to leave Jersey Shore after 10 years in the spotlight. "There were a lot of decisions that went into that, but I basically had to just think about my kids and where I am at in my life right now," she said. "It is really, really hard for me to leave and film the show with three kids now."
This isn't the only segment Martha and Snoop took part in while hosting the Ellen Show. Hip-hop star Ice Cube made a cameo, and the band Green Day hit the stage for a performance. Plus, Green Day learned how to make a few Martha-approved recipes that are perfect for an Oscar viewing party including pizza dough, pull-apart pigs in a blanket, and a Venus Blush cocktail.
Martha and Snoop's Ellen Show episode airs Friday, February 7, on NBC.
