Marquita Pring is a Sports Illustrated Swimsuit veteran, who made her debut as a rookie in 2020. Now, she's back for the magazine's 2023 issue with a stunning pictorial.

For this photoshoot, Pring was photographed by Ben Watts in Puerto Rico, where she was photographed at the beach wearing a striking bright bikini, paired with hoop earrings.

Kenzie Murphy, SI Swimsuit's Brand Coordinator, spoke about how the picturesque island was the perfect fit for this issue's backdrop: "Having never been to Puerto Rico, I was blown away by its beauty. Ornate seashells cover the white sands and the ocean sparkles in the sunlight."

Pring signed with Ford Models in 2009 and turned heads when she walked in Jean-Paul Gaultier's show for 2011 Paris Fashion Week. She also appeared in Vogue Italia that year for its June issue celebrating curvy models, posing alongside Tara Lynn, Candice Huffine, and Robyn Lawley.

She also co-founded ALDA with Ashley Graham, Danielle Redman, Inga Eiriksdottir, and Julie Henderson, which is a coalition of plus-sized models dedicated to changing people's perception of beauty, showing it can come in all sizes.

The model grew up in Clinton, New York and moved to Brooklyn in her early teens. In 2017, she penned an essay for Redbook Magazine about switching to modeling after playing basketball in school, and how the sport helped her feel confident.

"I learned to love my body and love myself from playing the game, and that sense of pride and physical awareness has translated into a successful modeling career. I trust my body. I feel powerful with my size. I know all of the amazing things I am capable of," she wrote.
