Markus Eder Continues To Prove He's Amongst The World's Best Skiers
Over the past couple of years, professional skier Markus Eder has cemented himself as one of the all-around riders to watch.
He's dominated the Freeride World Tour, dropped videos that give Candide Thovex a run for his money, and even appeared as an Olympic slopestyle athlete.
It's an impressive rap sheet, for sure.
Despite his undeniably locked-in position as one of freeskiing's best, sometimes we all need a reminder that Eder rips, a necessity which Red Bull Snow happily obliged by sharing a POV video of him crushing it on August 28th.
While Eder spent some time on the freeride circuit as an average competitor in the mid-2010's, he appeared seemingly out of nowhere to dominate the Freeride World Tour during the 2018 and 2019 seasons.
In 2018, he nearly snatched the overall victory, placing second at the end of the season. Then, a year later, he was fully locked in, grabbing two first-place wins, which earned him the Freeride World Tour champion title.
That season -- the winter of 2019 -- Eder put on a freeride clinic. He was unstoppable, lacing consequential lines peppered with freestyle tricks.
This run (filmed during a 2020 Eder wildcard appearance on the Tour), which features an unfortunate crash at the end, sums it up. Make sure to stick around for the POV angle, too -- the speed at which Eder approaches natural features is terrifyingly beautiful.
