Mark Ruffalo accidentally live-streamed 'Thor: Ragnarok'

Thirteen-going-on-30 star Mark Ruffalo was on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert to promote his upcoming film, Thor: Ragnarok. He told Colbert about how his promotion of the movie almost got him fired from the next Marvel film.

Marvel had asked Mark to help promote Thor by sharing behind-the-scenes footage of the premiere via Instagram Live. It sounded like a great way for fans to get a real taste of the action, but it turned out Mark was unaware of how Instagram Live works.

The film was ready to start, so Mark closed the app, or so he thought, and got ready for the show. As Mark said, the app maybe created a little more confusion that he had planned for. “So I pushed the button, which you think is going to stop it, but there’s a second [stop] button,” he said. But he only pressed the first one. Sometimes it’s OK to ask for help.

Unfortunately, Mark’s phone was still live, in his pocket, streaming to millions on Instagram. Luckily, Marvel fans would probably pay to see the movie from his pocket.

Some people, however, were not that excited because his phone continued to blow up with text letting him know about the problem. Thankfully, someone was able to get to Mark and stop his live stream before revealing anything more than the film’s dialogue and some pocket lint.
