Happy birthday, Princess.

On Monday, in recognition of what would have been Carrie Fisher's 63rd birthday, her longtime friend Mark Hamill shared a rarely-seen photo of the two during their early "Star Wars" days: "Being happy isn't getting what you want, it's wanting what you have," he captioned the vintage snap, quoting country legend Garth Brooks.

The undated photo shows Hamill and Fisher dancing in the moonlight as a live band plays music in the background.

Hamill occasionally tweets memories and anecdotes about Fisher, who died unexpectedly in 2016. "Star Wars" brought them both into the spotlight in the late 1970s as Princess Leia and Luke Skywalker, and although their paths diverged over the years, they always remained friends.

Both Hamill and Fisher appear in 2015's "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" and 2017's "Star Wars: The Last Jedi," but they unfortunately didn't really share screen time. Fisher died after she had already wrapped all of her scenes for "The Last Jedi," which would be released a year after her passing.

"She was so committed to joy and fun and embracing life," Hamill wrote of Fisher in a 2017 column for The Hollywood Reporter. "The lengths I would go to hear her laugh — there were no limits. I loved her and loved making her laugh."

Fisher also died before she could see Hamill receive his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, but their co-star Harrison Ford was on hand to help celebrate.
