Maritza Alarcon, Youth Empowerment Organizer

Maritza Alarcón previously served as a Dream Director at The Future Project, which works to inspire kids and transform schools. Previously, Alarcón was the Co-Creator of M.O.V.E., Motivation Opportunity Viability Enterprise, Inc., a youth organization that worked to increase matriculation rates in NYC public high schools. Born and raised in Brooklyn, Alarcón has always had a passion for New York and encouraging kids to dream big. A motivated young woman herself, Alarcón co-created M.O.V.E. while still in college. In 2010, she was honored as one of Glamour's 20 Amazing Young Women in their annual Women of the Year Awards for her work with M.O.V.E. That same year, she served as a volunteer teacher in Ghana. Now Alarcón works as a creator at IAmHappiest.com where she "helps demystify the ascension and expansion process for people who may be under the impression that happiest is an unattainable or seemingly out-of-reach aspiration."
