Mariah Carey Plunges Into The Ocean In A Hot Pink Wetsuit To Celebrate Her 54th Birthday
Mariah Carey turned 54 this week!
And she celebrated her birthday in the most amazing way, taking a deep dive into the new chapter of her life—literally.
The "Hero" songstress took to Instagram to share a video of herself plunging into the ocean by jumping off a yacht. "Celebratory splash at 3:27 on 3.27! 🦋🍾🎉🌊," she wrote.
An icon celebrated her birthday in an iconic way.
Mariah Carey officially turned 54 years old yesterday, and she rang in the milestone by taking a deep dive into the new chapter of her life—literally. On Instagram, the Grammy-winning singer shared a video of herself plunging into the ocean by jumping off a yacht.
In the clip, Carey wears a hot pink wetsuit with black paneling down the sides. She also appears to carry a pair of black sunglasses outstretched in one of her hands. In a second clip, Carey briefly emerges from the water, only to dive headfirst back in. A mix of her 1997 single "Honey" plays over the montage.
She captioned the post, "Celebratory splash at 3:27 on 3.27! 🦋🍾🎉🌊"
Fans flooded her comments with well-wishes. "Ur just THAT GIRL!!! So effortlessly!!! Happy Anniversary Mimi! 💖👑🐑🥳," one user wrote. "The grip on those sunglasses 😂 Happy anniversary Queen!!" another added.
The day before, Carey posted another video of herself to Instagram in anticipation of her big day, this one featuring the singer strutting down the tarmac of an airport, looking glamorous in an all-black outfit consisting of a body-con minidress, sheer tights, knee-high platform leather boots, and a shiny trench coat. Over the video, she included a glittering red sticker that read, "3.27."
She once again played one of her own singles over the clip, this time using her 2005 track "It's Like That." The lyrics appeared on the video, too, reading, "It's a special occasion / Mimi's emancipation."
