Fellow stars are showing their support for Britney Spears after the pop star revealed the harrowing private details of her conservatorship in a court hearing yesterday afternoon.

The legal arrangement has kept the singer's father, Jamie Spears, in control of her finances, professional life, and personal life for 13 years following her public breakdown in 2008. Speaking publicly about it for the first time, Spears called for an end to her conservatorship, which she described as "abusive," and said that her dad, management, and anyone involved in it "should be in jail."

Spears expressed her desire to freely see her friends, go for a car ride with her boyfriend, get married, and have more kids. She expressed that under the conservatorship, she did not have permission to remove her IUD, which especially shocked fans and listeners across the Internet.

"I deserve to have a life," she told the judge. "I've worked my whole life. I deserve to have a two- to three-year break and just, you know, do what I want to do."

As reactions to the hearing poured in online, singers and public figures sent their love and support to Spears, and applauded her courage to finally speak up.

Mariah Carey tweeted, "We love you Britney!!! Stay strong."

Halsey wrote, "Bless Britney and I hope with my whole heart she is awarded freedom from this abusive system. She deserves it more than anything. I admire her courage speaking up for herself today."

Brandy posted, "Sending all my love and support to Britney Spears and her fans."

Liz Phair wrote, "Oldest trick in the playbook of the patriarchy: declare a woman mad and gain control of her assets/property. Been happening for centuries." She also called out a double standard between men and women in the public eye, writing, "Please show me The equivalent conservatorships for male entertainers/athletes exhibiting erratic behavior."

Tinashe showed support for her "Slumber Party" collaborator. "We love you SO MUCH @britneyspears," she tweeted.

Calling for Britney to have bodily autonomy, Rose McGowan wrote, "Britney Spears has every right to be angry. How would you feel if your life was stolen, dissected, mocked? I pray she gets to live your life on her terms. STOP CONTROLLING WOMEN."

Singer Rina Sawayama shared, "So fucking shocked and sad at the full extent and facets of the abuse. We love u SO much Britney I hope the people who did this to u get what they deserve. Our angel #FreeBritney."

Ziwe simply wrote, "FREE BRITNEY!!!!!!!!!!!"

Spears's ex-boyfriend and fellow pop star Justin Timberlake also chimed in. The former NSYNC member garnered backlash after the Framing Britney Spears documentary aired earlier this year, as viewers called him out for playing into the misogynistic media treatment toward Spears. Months after apologizing for his past behavior, he vocally supported Spears's plea to end her conservatorship.

"After what we saw today, we should all be supporting Britney at this time," he shared. "Regardless of our past, good and bad, and no matter how long ago it was… what’s happening to her is just not right."
