Mariah Carey has officially "defrosted" for the holiday season, but don't let that distract you from the fact she totally nailed her Mean Girls-inspired Halloween costume yesterday while also flaunting her mega-toned legs. The star decided to dress up like Regina George from the iconic locker room scene where the bully's shirt has been snipped to show her bra underneath.
Of course, the "Always Be My Baby" singer put her own spin on the look, sharing an Instagram video of herself walking to Blondie's "One Way Or Another." In the vid, you see Mariah wearing a white tank with a purple bra underneath with a black pleated miniskirt and heels that highlight her super strong legs. (She also added a blonde wig to really nail the costume!)
"whatever i’m getting cheese fries #notyet," she captioned the video with a quote from the movie. Clearly, her followers are loving the homage. "That’s so fetch 🔥," one person wrote. And another added, "Regina Carey!!!!"
And yes, Mariah added the #notyet to her post to hint that the holiday season was just around the corner. And right on cue, three hours after the post, it officially became November a.k.a. Mariah's time to shine.
Naturally, she shared an iconic video on Instagram the very next day of herself "defrosting" to welcome in the holidays with "All I Want For Christmas Is You" playing in the background. "It’s…… TIME!!! 🎃🧊🎄 #MariahSZN," Mariah captioned it.
So, how does the queen of Christmas stay so strong? Well, Mariah isn't afraid to get a sweat on in the gym to strengthen her legs. During the COVID-19 lockdown in 2021, she shared a TikTok of herself getting in a workout at home on her elliptical.
"Staying home & staying active with #demgloves! #staysafe," she captioned the video.
And while going to the gym definitely isn't her favorite thing ever, Mariah does get exercise in with daily walks and swimming laps in a pool. "She always forces herself to go for a brisk walk every day, even if it’s on the treadmill, and she also tries to fit in a daily session of swimming and water aerobics," a source previously told Hollywood Life back in 2018.
Staying active outdoors is clearly key for Mariah. She also enjoys hitting the slopes during winter for some skiing, which definitely works the quads, calves, and core.
When it comes to her diet, Mariah hasn't shared much in recent years, but back in 2018, her daily meals were packed with healthy ingredients. "She’s eating a lot of organic veggies, meat, and fish and has cut back on processed foods," the same source shared with Hollywood Life.
Mariah was also big on prioritizing protein at one point, she revealed to E! back in 2016. "I try to stick with the proteins," she said, revealing that she ate a lot of Norwegian salmon and capers at the time. Yum!
