Man's touching act for brother caught on viral video: 'Older siblings are the angels we don’t deserve'

A California man went above and beyond for his brother on Christmas, and Twitter couldn’t get enough of it.

On Dec. 25, 2019, Luis Flores, of Santa Ana, took to Twitter to share a video of his sibling receiving his gift. The unnamed brother, who had just started at the University of California San Diego, had reportedly told Flores how difficult it was to not have a computer.

“My Brother started school this fall at [UCSD],” Flores tweeted. “He would constantly tell me was how difficult it was not having a computer, yet it didn’t hold him back, he passed all his finals & courses & I’m so proud of him.”

Flores said he took matter into his own hands and worked overtime, along with extra shifts, to get his brother a Macbook Pro. In a 15-second clip, Flores’s brother appears stunned upon opening his gift.

“Wait, what?” he asks before hugging Flores. “What? Stop. No way.”

Flores’s post immediately went viral, receiving over 200,000 likes and nearly 24,000 retweets.

“Older siblings are the angels we don’t deserve,” one person tweeted in response.

“UCSD is so demanding and I’m so proud of him for passing all his classes regardless of not having a laptop, I rely on my laptop daily so I can’t only imagine!” another person wrote. “Ur a great brother.”

One Twitter user said he, too, also did something similar.

“Did this with my mom who wants to pursue higher education,” the user wrote.
