According to Gwyneth Paltrow, Cameron Diaz, and now Mandy Moore, aging isn’t a big deal — and Moore now knows firsthand, thanks to her role on This Is Us.

The 32-year-old star tells Vulture that it took a lot of makeup tests to get her “62-year-old grandma” look just right. And in the process, it forced her to wonder about — and accept — what she’ll look like down the road.

“We had so many makeup tests. I think we had five makeup tests and putting on the prosthetics takes about four hours each time, so I had a lot of time ’cause there were different iterations,” Moore tells Vulture. “Initially I looked too old, and then it wasn’t enough.”

Throughout the process, Moore says she “had lots of time to examine myself at various different ages.” And while she didn’t feel that she looked like either her mother or her father with her final aged look, she’s not worried about it.

“It’s weird watching it, seeing the third episode going like, ‘Wow, I wonder if that is how I’ll age,'” she says. “I’d be pretty okay with it. Rebecca’s taken fairly good care of herself. I’m embracing aging. I’m ready for that to happen in the next 30 years. I’m not scared of it.”
