The Mandalorian season 2 spoilers to follow.
The Mandalorian's Gina Carano has revealed that the major twist in the Star Wars spin-off's season 2 finale wasn't in the script (well, her script at least) so she didn't know about it until super late into shooting.
As part of a lengthy interview with Drunk 3PO on YouTube, the former MMA star described the show as "the most secretive thing that [she's] ever been a part of" and said that being surprised by certain plot points on set – like, you know, Luke Skywalker popping up and whisking Grogu (aka Baby Yoda) away – isn't all that uncommon.

"I started finding out about it in the make-up trailer, basically because you're like, 'Oh wait, who's that?'," recalled Carano, who plays Cara Dune. "They didn't say it in the script.
"Everyone that has worked on The Mandalorian is insane Star Wars fans. They have the shirts and they're like, 'Wait a second'. And so, everybody starts doing a little whispering."
During the conversation, Carano went on to detail how cast members are required to wear "big, black cloaks" while traveling between studios to reduce the possibility of someone snapping a shot of them in costume, and potentially leaking spoilers.
"You only get the scripts that you're in," she noted. "And they've got a name printed out all over it so, if anything ever gets out... I can keep a lot of secrets and I have all the secrets. All of them!
"OK, I don't have all of them – but I have all of them," she laughed. "So, keeping secrets for me is like, 'Hey, I want people to be surprised'. I'm a personal big fan of surprises, so I wouldn’t want to ruin that."
