From Esquire

After last week’s episode of The Mandalorian gave us a Baby Yoda episode to end all Baby Yoda episodes, we wrote that The Mandalorian has become the Baby Yoda Show. Which isn’t such a bad thing! Survey says that 11 out of 10 fans of The Mandalorian would rather the show focus solely on Baby Yoda’s quest to eat every endangered fish egg in the galaxy. Just for your edification.

Unfortunately, if some fans are to be believed, The Mandalorian will actually focus on other characters in the Star Wars universe, some of them not even cute. And with the first two episodes of Season Two telling relatively standalone stories (save for the return of Old Man Boba), these fans think that shit will start going down soon. Like very soon. Specifically, the long-awaited live-action debut of Rosario Dawson’s Ahsoka Tano, a celebrated Jedi from the Clone Wars and Rebels animated series. According to some detective work from Reddit user Plain_Tortillas, we just might know how Tano will finally cross paths with Mando.

Per some extensive (and impressive) screenshotting from Season Two’s trailers, the user, essentially, places the Frog Lady, her husband, Sabine Wren (another animated series character), and Mando on a water planet at the same time. Then, we see Mando, Cara Dune, and Greef Karga moving around an Imperial jail-type building, looking for something. And that something just might be what we see in the screenshots Plain_Tortilla took of a prison transport flying around, chased by Stormtroopers. All of that said, here’s the theory—most of The Mandalorian's main players are on this water planet, gearing up to rescue Ahsoka from Imperial hands. Here’s how Plain_Tortillas explained it:

"Last we saw of Sabine she was off traveling with Ahsoka, and since Mando is currently looking for a Jedi it would make sense that she would point him in the direction of Ahsoka Tano… So, where is Ahsoka currently? She's in an imperial prison and is being held captive by Moff Gideon."

A classic Star Wars prison breakout, done Mandalorian-style? Sign us up. As for when we’ll see this thing go down, Reddit user VarunBalodi330 has a pretty good thought. He pointed out that Dave Filoni—the mastermind behind the Star Wars animated series—is directing Episode Five, so it would make sense for him to handle the Big Ahsoka Moment. Until then, the user figures, we’ll see Frog Lady meet up with Mister Frog Lady, and—brace yourselves—see Moff Gideon abduct Baby Yoda. (Perhaps that ties into Ahsoka in prison as well?) So you might want to send out an Amber Alert in advance.
