Man-made Meteor Shower in the Works for 2020 Olympics

The opening and closing ceremonies of the Olympics are always a huge spectacle, creating a theatrical performance, often featuring music, cultural displays and fireworks. The 2020 Tokyo Olympics will be no exception and may even include a new type of show: a man-made meteor shower.
A Japan-based space start-up called ALE Co. plans to create a shooting stars for the 2020 Olympic games by sending a mini satellite into orbit through their initiative Project Sky Canvas, BBC reported. When the satellite fires off tiny particles, they will catch fire and turn into shooting stars that can be directed to a chosen location, according to the report.
They essentially burn in different colors when theyre reentering the atmosphere, Rie Yamomoto of Project Sky Canvas told the BBC, explaining the process of the satellite.
ALE describes their company as entertainment utilizing outer space,and they are planning to launch their first satellite into space in the second half of 2017, according to their website.
We want people to look up, not down at the ground,ALE's research director and Nihon University aerospace engineering professor told CNN.People in Japan are so busy everyday and they need more culture and science in their lives to bring them closer to nature, and to relax.
