Man dies after Mexican actor Pablo Lyle punches him in an alleged road-rage incident

A 63-year-old man has died after suffering a head injury from a fall after being punched by an actor, according to the Miami Police Department.

Pablo Lyle, 32, a popular telenovela star known for his leading role as Rodrigo Villavicencio in Mi Adorable Maldición, allegedly entered a confrontation with Juan Ricardo Hernández after the car that Lyle was in cut Hernández off in traffic on Sunday in Miami, the Miami Herald reported.

Witnesses told police that Hernández exited his vehicle and hit the actor’s car window with his open palm while screaming and swearing at the occupants. The witnesses said Lyle punched the victim once in the face, causing Hernández to fall on the ground. Lyle and the occupants of his vehicle then fled the scene, the Miami Herald reports.

Lyle’s 6-year-old son was in the backseat of the car. Lyle claims he punched Hernández because he was defending his family, according to Miami news station WPLG. In addition to his son, Mauro, Lyle has a daughter, Arantza, with his wife, actress Ana Araujo.

After the confrontation, Lyle allegedly returned to the vehicle and told the driver to leave quickly because he saw another man running toward them. Witnesses who were at the scene said that Lyle and the driver left Hernández on the ground.

As a result of the fall, Hernández suffered from a brain injury which turned into an internal hemorrhage. He was unconscious in Jackson Memorial Hospital until his family removed him from life-support on Thursday, WPLG reported.

Lyle dropped his family at the airport before he and the driver of the vehicle surrendered to police. He was taken into custody on Sunday and appeared in Miami-Dade County Court Monday, facing a battery charge. Lyle posted a $5,000 bond and was allowed to travel to Mexico.
