Greenberg, who works with Jessica Alba, Anna Faris, Tracee Ellis Ross, and Kaley Cuoco, points out that healthy looking skin is an important part of nailing a flawless makeup look. “My favorite trend right now is [having] perfect skin,” she begins. “I think the way to achieve it — or cheat it — is finding the right primer since it helps you get the [smoothest] skin canvas for makeup.” Brit + Co Pick: Cover FX Blurring Primer ($38) (Photo via Steve Granitz / Getty)

Red Lids

Sir John is something of a legend in the beauty world, working closely with mega-stars like Beyoncé, Joan Smalls, and Karlie Kloss. His chosen trend for the new year? Fiery red eye makeup like Lili Reinhart’s at the 2019 Golden Globes, shown above. “The thing I love most is that we were conditioned from childhood to not use reds or similar shades around the eyes,” he says. “It was considered distasteful. But now this trend is super hot.” Brit + Co Pick: L’Oréal Paris Paradise Enchanted Scented Eyeshadow Palette ($11) (Photo via Steve Granitz/ Getty)

Earthy tones

“A trend that picked up popularity [in 2018] and I believe will continue well into [2019] is makeup done with beautiful earthy tones,” says Teter, who has worked with Ashley Graham, Romee Strijd, and Ariana Grande. Applying peach, terracotta orange, and caramel tones to the eyes, lips, and cheeks will brighten up your look instantly. “[They] give that beautiful warmth to a look that makes anyone look fresh and lively,” he notes.
