Demi Lovato officially stole the show with her emotional performance at the 2020 Grammys — from her vocals to her outfit and makeup. After the details on her all-white outfit were made available, a list of the beauty products that survived tears and the spotlight of the stage has now been shared by the singer's makeup artist.
According to Cosmopolitan, makeup artist Mario Dedivanovic revealed his secret glamour weapons for Demi's look. Sharing a video of the singer to Instagram, Mario admitted that he grew concerned when her performance included a few tears, but not a single smear was spotted. "When I saw the tear coming down, my heart started beating so fast I went into panic mode. But nothing moved," he said, announcing that Yves Saint Laurent Beauty was behind the feat.
In addition to a makeup look of "effortless radiance," Allure reported that hairstylist Paul Norton created Demi's soft, romantic curls. Just hours before taking the stage, Demi had given Insta followers a behind-the-scenes glimpse at her getting ready, posing in a bathrobe for a selfie.
Demi's makeup wasn't the only notable part of her performance, of course; the singer shared a brand-new song, "Anyone." And the performance marked her official return to music after suffering a reported overdose in 2018.
Speaking with Zane Lowe before the Grammys, Demi touched on the importance of the single, which was written four days before the overdose. "I remember being in the hospital and listening to the song," she said, "and it was about a week after I had been in the hospital, and I was finally, like, awake, and I just remember hearing back the songs I had just recorded and thinking, If there's ever a moment where I get to come back from this, I want to sing this song.'"
The singer is promising more new material in the future, and it's likely this won't be the last time we're cheering her on or copying her look. To help you with that, you can find all the products used for Demi's look below.
