Maisie Williams Walks a Very Fine Line with Game of Thrones Spoilers

She’s playing a dangerous game with Jimmy Kimmel.

Jimmy Kimmel doesn't have a great track record with getting information out of reluctant guests, but sometimes he gets lucky. And there's no more precious, coveted information out there than what happens in the upcoming, final season of Game of Thrones.

On Tuesday night, Maisie Williams seemed way too relaxed for someone who is in the middle of filming the presumably bloody final episodes, and though she didn't spill any major spoilers, she did fall into some verbal traps.

Kimmel: How much shooting do you have left?

Williams: A lot. Endless amounts. It's a mammoth task this year, it's huge.

Kimmel: Then we know based on that that you're in a lot of the episodes.

Williams: No! Not necessarily, because some of the episodes take a really long time to shoot.

She's right to be defensive and give those qualifiers: Williams has the great burden of actually knowing the ending to Game of Thrones, and she has to live each day until the finale in fear of accidentally giving something away. But as Kimmel points out, the president of HBO said there would be multiple scripts and multiple endings filmed to throw off potential spoilers. Williams isn't buying it.

"I heard this and I immediately thought, 'I don't think we've got the budget to shoot lots of different endings.'"

So on top of the final season's scripts, Williams also has a pretty good handle on the show's budgets. This sounds like something she shouldn't be saying publicly, though, and Kimmel is quick to point out that the multiple-endings thing came from HBO's president.

"But as we know," Williams says, "sometimes presidents don't always tell the truth."

Spoken like someone very invested in overthrowing monarchs.
