These New Magic Fruity Pebbles Will Turn Your Milk Blue

I know you’ve probably been counting down yourself, but we are now mere WEEKS from National Cereal Day on March 7. Unsurprisingly, cereal brands like Post are starting to gear up for the big (fake) holiday with the release of a Fruity Pebbles variant that would seem to do some truly magical stuff.

This week, Post announced the impending launch of Magic Fruity Pebbles, an all-pink take on the classic sugary breakfast staple. It’s a gluten-free crispy rice cereal that puts a new twist on something sweet and nostalgic.

While this limited-edition cereal is downright monochromatic compared to the rainbow hues of your standard Fruity Pebbles, it does one notable thing that Fred Flinstone’s usual breakfast can’t: change the color of milk. Over time, this pink cereal will magically transform the milk into your bowl into a pastel shade of blue. Think of it as a sort of cereal bowl gender reveal that heavily leans on an element of surprise and misdirection and you’re most of the way there.

To celebrate this National Cereal Day, Post says it wanted to do something to shock and surprise its fans. “The Pebbles brand is always looking for new ways to spark imagination in kids and kids at heart,” Pebbles Brand Manager Amy Brothers said in a press release. “We’re excited to put a magical twist on our classic vibrant colors while staying true to the delicious fruity taste that fans love. Magic Fruity Pebbles cereal takes the eating experience to a whole new level.”

This special edition of Magic Fruity Pebbles should be available on store shelves nationwide sometime very soon if they aren’t already. Just make sure to pick up some milk too to get the full effect.
